For anybody that does not have the condition Psoriasis it would seem ludicrous to suggest that they deserve to suffer from this condition. However, during the study I conducted on the effects of Hypnotherapy upon Psoriasis, this is one of the core beliefs that I discovered a Psoriasis sufferer has.

What is Psoriasis? Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. There are nine types, each with unique signs and symptoms. Plaque Psoriasis is the most common type of Psoriasis and the only one so far that I have been able to affect. About 80% of people who develop psoriasis have plaque psoriasis, which looks like patches of raised, reddish skin covered by opaque scales. These patches, or plaques, often form on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back. However, the plaques can occur anywhere on the body.

Researchers believe that psoriasis is an immune-mediated condition. This means the condition is caused by faulty signals in the bodys immune system. It is believed that psoriasis develops when the immune system tells the body to over-react and accelerate the growth of skin cells. Normally skin cells mature and are shed from the skins surface every 28 to 30 days. When psoriasis develops, the skin cells mature in 3 to 6 days and move to the skin surface. Instead of being shed, the skin cells pile up, causing the visible lesions. It is my belief that by using Hypnotherapy what the client is able to do is to correct those faulty signals. There is good evidence to show that Hypnotherapy can have a significant effect on Psoriasis.

Psoriasis usually causes discomfort. The skin often itches, and it may crack and bleed. In severe cases, the itching and discomfort may keep a person awake at night, and the pain can make everyday tasks difficult.

In my previous article Psoriasis an angry mans game I described the study, the results and another trait common to a Psoriasis client, anger. However in this article I want to discuss a common belief amongst Psoriasis clients and that is that Im not good enough. This is a common belief that virtually all Psoriasis clients, which I have worked with over the years, have. They believe, deep down at a sub-conscious level, for one reason or another, that they have done something wrong. This develops into a belief that Im not good enough, which is eventually translated into the belief that they deserve the condition. To an outsider looking in this would appear to be bizarre. However, consider the small child, say a five year old girl, whose parents split up and her daddy is suddenly taken away. What does that child think? Its a fair bet that she will be very upset and in trying to understand what has happened to her world, (given her limited understanding of the world and its complexities), she may feel that SHE has done something wrong, which is why daddy left. In turn, this leads to feelings of guilt and low self-worth. Hence, the Im not good enough syndrome is born.

Psoriasis will often develop after an event like this. Of course it then follows on quite naturally for the child to link the two together to come to an even bigger fictitious belief that because she wasnt good enough God, Father Christmas or whoever, gave her this horrible scaly, itchy skin. Now, most adults would of course dismiss this belief structure. However we are talking about a small child with very limited processing capability; to her its a straightforward cause and effect, I deserve it and here it is!

Okay, so now this child has the belief, what happens as she grows? Does her self-worth improve? Its very unlikely! What would you expect to happen when shes at school doing PE with scales on her elbows or in her hair? Do you imagine the other children will understand and give her positive encouragement? Of course not! Names like scabby and snakeskin make her feel more ashamed and teach her to hide it away, dropping her self worth even lower. This will continue for the rest of her life unless someone steps in and tells her subconscious mind to STOP these destructive thought processes, and starts the reversal of the cycle so that the healing may begin.

Many people are unaware of the automatic functions of the subconscious mind. This simply means that if a process is repeated often enough, almost irrespective of the outcome, this thinking develops into an automatic process. This is because the subconscious mind does not have a critical factor, which means that it does not interrogate behaviour or thinking to establish whether or not it is beneficial to the client.

Hypnotherapy is really the most direct and influential way of changing subconscious thinking; within therapy patterns thinking and behaviour can be improved to facilitate beneficial resolutions. Often this process is both surprising to, and effortless for, the client.

A belief in the benefits of Hypnotherapy is not necessary in order to change behaviour. Many clients that I have dealt with have either been unable to understand the link between the way we think and the way our body responds, or tend to think of hypnosis as being something they have seen on television, which has no relevance to them. Hypnotherapy works independently and separately from a clients critical intellectual assessment, which often comes as a big surprise.

If you have tried gum, patches, prescriptions or willpower alone without success, make your final attempt successful with stop smoking hypnosis.

Of all of the ways to quit smoking, hypnosis is literally the most trouble-free and has the most successful track record. If you are willing to consistently watch and listen to DVDs and CDs specifically created to curb your cravings to smoke, then quit smoking hypnosis will work for you.

Many smokers think that they are unable to quit smoking because of their nicotine addiction, but that simply is not true. Medical experts agree that after seven to ten days - even as soon as three days - all nicotine has been eliminated from the body, which leaves smokers to focus on the more difficult and far reaching psychological and emotional addiction to smoking cigarettes.

There are countless ways to quit smoking, but just one method can address both the cravings and the emotional compulsion: quit smoking hypnosis. Many people who want to quit still end up asking themselves, “Why can’t I simply stop smoking?”

The answer is clear to hypnotherapists. The part of you that won’t let you quit smoking is your unconscious. You can’t change your unconscious mind by force of will or with a prescription, patch or gum. You need the right kind of help.

To quit smoking, support is imperative, but many people do not understand that the best support comes from within their own unconscious. Hypnosis is the most effective technique to ensure that your entire psyche is working to help you stop smoking. That’s because hypnosis provides a persuasive method of communicating with your unconscious mind.

Quit smoking hypnosis helps you get rid of the urge to smoke by removing the impulse to light up. When the urge and compulsion to smoke are removed, quitting becomes painless choice that you can make without difficulty. The best stop smoking hypnosis programs are successful because they address the most powerful elements of the smoking addiction.

The first part of an effective stop smoking hypnosis program addresses the craving to smoke for pleasure and relaxation. This precedent was actually established when you were a baby. Likely, when you were cranky, your parents put a bottle in your mouth. Then your attention got diverted; you relaxed and likely went to sleep. Smokers get the same calming effect from a cigarette.

With quit smoking hypnosis, the unconscious is reprogrammed to receive pleasure and relaxation by automatically replacing stress-inducing thoughts with calming thoughts instead, all via the use of the very same triggers that previously made you anxious. This makes the tension almost magically disappear. In addition, the very essence of hypnosis is relaxation. So by listening to a soothing hypnotherapy CD daily, stress levels will quickly fade.

The second part of an effective stop smoking hypnosis program will help you tackle the habituation, or the “Habit.” Habituation occurs when the unconscious forms an association between smoking and other behaviors, such as driving or watching television. Perhaps the second that you turn on the TV you are fighting with a craving to smoke.

An effective stop smoking hypnosis CD or DVD will reprogram your unconscious associations so that driving, for example, actually makes you want to REJECT smoking! This is known as, no pun intended, extinguishing a conditioned response.

Here is a news flash! The physical nicotine addiction is only about ten percent of the addiction. Ninety percent of the addiction to cigarettes is comprised of the emotional and mental components that we’ve discussed so far. And as stated earlier in this article, medical professionals maintain that the body is clear of nicotine in as little as three days.

People who use Neuro-Linguistic Programming and quit smoking hypnosis CDs and DVDs recognize that when their smoking associations and reliance on cigarettes to unwind have undergone reprogramming, the physical addiction is in fact such a diminutive part of their smoking habit, that it has no effect on their capability to quit smoking without suffering from withdrawal.

Now, I must tell you that despite the unparalleled success that clients have had with stop smoking hypnosis and NLP CDs and DVDs, you must hold the desire to quit smoking prior to undertaking a program. And as well as the desire to stop smoking, you must make an honest decision to quit. That means that you must be ready and willing to throw your cigarettes away.

Hypnosis CDs and DVDs cannot be used to force you to do something you don’t desire to do, so no program can coerce you to stop smoking. But if you have the desire to quit smoking, and you make a decision to quit smoking, hypnosis will help you to remain relaxed and not experience tension, cravings, or withdrawal symptoms. Let hypnosis and NLP give you the support you need.

Quitting smoking does not make everyone gain weight but it results in gaining a few extra pounds. Weight gain is much possible for chain smokers. It gives the smoker the false feeling of weight gain which is actually due to water retention after which the body comes to its previous position.

Chain smokers are more prone to health dangers when they try to quit smoking and the main symptom is weight gain.

How to preserve health after quitting smoking:

1. Physical fitness

* Daily exercise can be a good reminder to make one realize that how much of the energy he has lost due to smoking as he will find it quite tough to exercise properly. Physical fitness enhances your energy levels and by bringing you close to the nature, it also diverts your mind off smoking.

* Beginners should exercise for 30 minutes initially not essentially on regular basis. Exercise not only ensures good health but also helps in controlling weight. You can go for exercises like brisk walking and playing.

2. Good eating habits

* Good eating habits ensure prevention of weight gain and make you feel good. Eating nutritious diet on regular basis helps a lot but you should not change yourself too fast as it can result in fatigue.

* Never try to quit smoking during bouts of tension only to prevent snacking. It can result in consuming more snacks or taking to smoking again and the person becomes addicted once again.

3. Resisting longings

* Once you quit smoking, you should also learn how to resist craving for cigarettes and food. If one learns to overcome craving for 5 minutes, then it generally goes off.

* Try to busy your hands and mouth with things like chewing gum, solving puzzles to replace smoking.

* Try not to accompany your loneliness with tea or coffee. It can increase the nervous feeling.

* Have required sleep when tired and also try to lessen your anger and loneliness. Go for meditation and relax properly.

* Take up another subject to talk other than smoking.

* List the places where you feel urge to smoke and also list things you can have as a substitute of smoking. Avoid going to the pubs, having chips when watching television.

* Some anxious smokers can also go for nicotine gum or patch known for reducing the weight gain only on being prescribed by the doctor.

4. Be optimistic

* Eating habits become better with the passage of time as you left smoking and food tastes nice when you become habitual of eating healthy food.

* Dont be pessimist and let yourself not to be afraid about weight gain. If it happens you will surely lose weight with the help of your eating habits and be confident about your choice to stay healthy.

Using Hypnosis For Depression And Its Cure
By John Hubert

Believe it or not, but depression is a treatable and manageable disease. Whilst perhaps there isn’t any universal cure for it, using hypnosis for depression can help manage it in ways a lot greater than you might initially think or believe.

Let’s take for example the symptoms of depression. You have less motivation to do things, you feel quite lethargic and just don’t see a point, a reason or any ambition in doing things. This presents quite a problem as the less we do things, the less in touch we are with the world around us, the more we can become depressed and the further we delve into this troubling psychological state.

Thankfully however, hypnosis can be used to help treat, but not cure, depression. The way hypnosis works is by sending your mind into a subtle yet deep subconscious state. When you’re in this state you’re more open and prone to suggestion than you are normally. It’s by manipulating this state of the subconscious, and placing suggestions that are more likely to make the symptoms of depression easier to handle, that you’ll be able to help treat this state.

Of course hypnosis is not without its skeptics. Some people will claim that hypnosis essentially is just a placebo effect, that you will something to happen enough and it does. This is pretty much essentially what hypnosis is! It is about making your mind believe in something enough so that it becomes a reality, and if the results of such a thing can be demonstrated to cause so much benefit for so many people, then obviously the processes of hypnosis do work.

Give it enough time and using hypnosis for depression will do wonders for you. This psychological state that you enter into can effectively rid you of a number of ailments that you may have, and treating depression is definitely possible. Like with all things, patience is a necessity, and you’ll need to willingly guide yourself into these deep, euphoric, relaxing and ultimately blissful states of calmness that your mind and body experience as a result of hypnosis. This calm is derived from the your mind finally being able to relax itself after thinking about things so much each and every day.

So don’t worry, and don’t feel depressed or stressed. Give self hypnosis a go, and your depression may just surprisingly be minimized, and who knows, it may even go away. I’m not saying that you’ll come across a depression cure, but I am saying that you will come across a way that you can easily manage it.

Most studies recommend that adults need between six and eight hours of sleep nightly. A number of people, however, are unable to do this. Up to 20 million Americans alone have serious struggles sleeping every night.

Several elements that create sleep disorders are responsible for this startling fact. For instance, a large number of people snore. Deep snoring sometimes can cause sleeping persons to wake, in a start, by this noise. Additionally, people with a spouse that is a loud snorer often have trouble sleeping with such a racket occurring in the same room!

Snoring may also be indicative of a similar sleeping disorder called sleep apnea. This problem can happen when an individual stops breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea is sometimes from blockages in the nose and sinus passages, or as a result of being overweight. This problem is potentially deadly, and persons who are diagnosed with sleep apnea usually wear a mask that delivers pressurized air to their lungs while they are sleeping.

Sleep apnea may cause narcolepsy, a different sleeping disturbance. At times, however, people who do not suffer from sleep apnea may develop narcolepsy. Persons who have this problem often go to sleep unexpectedly and without warning in any place or at any time. If a person is being treated for this problem, the physician typically prescribes that patient to refrain from driving before the problem is being treated effectively; going to sleep while driving is extremely hazardous!

Another potentially dangerous sleeping problem is called sleepwalking, and is also described referred to in medical literature as somnambulism. Persons who sleepwalk engage in the identical activities - cleaning house, taking a shower, climbing stairs, et cetera - that they do while they are awake. Nearly one-fifth of the population worldwide may sleepwalk.

In some instances, people have even been reported to have left their homes or committed murder while sleepwalking! Most often, however, the person who is sleepwalking is in much more danger than the persons around him or her. The recommended course of action is to get the individual back to bed.

Another problem called shift work sleep disorder is sometimes reported by individuals whose work schedule involves alternating shift schedules, afternoon, or night shifts. This condition can result in one of two categories of sleep difficulties: excessive tiredness, or insomnia. Moreover, people who suffer from this disorder experience higher likelihood of cancer than individuals who do not have it.

Persons diagnosed with insomnia often have trouble falling asleep at bedtime. In the event that they are able to go to sleep, they typically cannot sleep soundly and are awakened easily. They might only sleep several hours before experiencing this disturbance.

The consequences of insomnia are feeling sleepy during the day and decreased physical functioning. Despite the fact that individuals who suffer from insomnia frequently feel sleepy, however, those who suffer from chronic insomnia often realize that they are perpetually overly alert, and cannot easily relax or remain calm. Other potential side effects of insomnia are physical and emotional fatigue.

Many people believe they know how to treat insomnia. Some of these include some odd home remedies for insomnia. One such cure is a concoction of burnt cinnamon in hot water, although there is no concrete evidence demonstrating that this mixture, or insomnia hypnotherapy. Professionals who use insomnia hypnosis help sufferers to develop beneficial sleep routines by teaching a group of suggestive thoughts that will allow them to get to sleep with less difficulty. People are taught the skills of self-hypnosis to help them treat this problem. Self-hypnosis is a form of insomnia hypnosis that is often very effective for suggestive persons, but is much less helpful for clients who think analytically. A very comparable strategy, called Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, is nearly always more useful for these persons.

So many possible treatments for sleeplessness exist that this article cannot cover them all. Experts do not agree about how to cure insomnia. Most clients who have encountered NLP and insomnia hypnosis, however, have reported them to be highly effective in have helped them to get uninterrupted, peaceful sleep. These innovative and helpful approaches, unlike drugs or other alternative cures, does not have any hangover or adverse effects, and can be used almost anywhere.

Summary: Between five and ten percent of Americans experiences some form of sleeping problem. Insomnia is a sleep problem that stops people from getting to sleep or sleeping well each night. A number of techniques have been used to help them effectively manage this disorder. One of the most effective, as described by people who have tried this treatment method, is hypnotherapy for insomnia.

You may have heard about self hypnosis in conjunction with weight loss or as a way to stop smoking; however these are not the only areas that you can get help in. just about any problem or phobia that you can think of can benefit from hypnotherapy. While this article is going to give you information about self hypnosis you should be aware of the facts that you can also see a hypnotherapist. Sometimes you can have more of an impact if you see a hypnotherapist in conjunction with a self hypnosis technique.

You can find online or in some stores a wide variety of helpful CDs or if you look online places to download self hypnosis instruction on your MP3 player. Some of the many items you can find that may be helpful for your situation are the fear of flying, anger management, stress relief or even pain management. You will find that if you enter into self hypnosis with an open mind you will achieve excellent results. What type of results can you expect from self hypnosis? If you have issues with anger management, just imagine what it would be like to take back your life and to have anger under control. You can do this all from the privacy of your home when you insert a self hypnosis technique. If you arent feeling well because you have spiralled out of control with your eating habits and gained weight and you can no longer fit in your clothes, by practicing self hypnosis you will be able to achieve a sensible weight for your frame. You will be able to save money and your health when you stop smoking with self hypnosis; you couldnt give yourself a better present. Sleep problems and addictions could be a thing of the past for you.

What is the procedure for using a self hypnosis technique? You will need to find a quiet place in your home where you wont be disturbed by your family or roommate. Strive to use the self hypnosis every day for at least twenty one days. You will find out more about how long you should use the therapy once you have chosen a CD that you like. It is very important that you are vigilant about using self hypnosis. If you arent consistent you wont see the desired results. Choose a room where you feel comfortable and at peace. It could be a favourite chair, bed or even the floor. The CD will instruct you on how to breathe for maximum relaxation. This is when the pleasant voice of the hypnotherapist will come into play. If you cant relax and let go then you havent found the right hypnotherapist for you. You may find that you dont hear the whole CD or tape; you dont need to worry about it. The information will be taking root in your sub conscious mind. It is not uncommon for the experience to relax you to the point of sleep.

There also may be a time where you will want to use a hypnotherapist outside your home. This works very well with the self hypnosis technique you may have been using at home. Sometimes you may need a little extra help from a therapist and by that I mean that they can give you more specific suggestions for your particular needs. The self hypnosis CDs that you can purchase will of course be more generic as they have to appeal to a larger group. If you find that may be what you need to compliment your self hypnosis technique then you will find that you will achieve what you set out to do, which is betterment of your life.

Obviously people with Psoriasis deserve it!
By Paul W Howard

The average person tries to quit smoking between four to six times before they beat the addiction.

The word meditation is derived from Sanskrit word Medha which means wisdom. People have diverse impressions about what meditation is. To some it refers to an activity monks do, sitting in far off lands, high up in the mountains. Yet there is a simple answer to the question what is meditation.

Meditation a refined approach to life. It is a way of leading life. Meditation is a practice that can help people cope with both medical problems as emotional and other problems like stress, fear and anxiety.

Other important points to note about meditation are:

1) There is evidence to show that meditation has been practiced by mankind for ages. And it goes beyond the barriers of religion. For example, in Hinduism, meditation has been in existence for the past 5000 years. From this ancient origin, it has come a long way and its principals are practiced globally by millions of people.

2) In Buddhism, it has always been a central concept for spiritual development.Gautam Buddha the founder of Buddhism obtained enlightenment through meditaion.

3) In Christianity, mediation is at times associated with prayer and the study of scriptures. It is deep rooted in the Bible, asking followers to practice meditation principles.

4) In Islam, a follower is expected to pray five times a day. These prayers are a way to concentrate and meditate on Allah the almighty.

Thus, there are many types of meditation activities and hence many benefits from the meditation. Meditation has positive effects on body and mind. Plus there are physical benefits including lower blood pressure and better functionality of the lungs.

Meditation also increases consciousness needed to live a meaningful and a satisfying life. It helps people attain better concentration.

And documentation of these effects are now available, with more than 1000 studies conducted by 200 universities, the prominent among them being the University of Chicago, Harvard Medical School and Stanford University.

Back to Basics with Meditation

To feel over worked and stressed is an obvious out come of today’s modern life style. This is often due to unhappiness, impatience and frustration - all having a slow and negative impact on ones health and well being in general.

One may also feel that it’s difficult to find the time to learn and practice meditation. But in reality meditation, the practice leaves people with more time to devote on the real positive issues in life, by clearing the mind from unwanted negative thoughts.

A very simple breathing meditation can be very helpful for beginners. This takes about fifteen minutes and has magical effects on the body and soul, bringing about a positive change in a personality.

In fact, breathing meditation forms the foundation of a higher stage of meditation which is called as transforming meditation. A place ideal for meditation has to be calm and quite.

The person meditating can be seated in the traditional cross legged manner or in any other fashion which is comfortable. Use of a chair is also fine. It is important to be seated with the back straight, so that one is always alert and does not feel sleepy.

A slow deep breathing is done. The idea is to concentrate just on breathing, and not to allow any distractions that would make the mind and thoughts wander.

http://www.MindControlLanguagePatterns.com

NOTE: I have on political intention in posting this speech. It is simply a look at it’s use of persuasion… and it’s quite awesome!!

This is an excerpt from a speech by Senator Barack Obama - New Hampshire Primary

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 Nashua, New Hampshire

My comments on the persuasive power of this are in (bold).

We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check. (This is an indirect suggestion to “pause” i.e., to stop thinking or rationalizing) We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. (”We” implies a “you and me” thus uniting us. From our detached “pause” we can look at the concept of false hope.)

But in the unlikely story that is America, (”unlikely” allows us to feel unique and special as Americans, linking us to the myth of a people who thrive against all odds) there has never been anything false about hope. (This is a different use of the words “false” and “hope” and reframes “false hope” in a new way) For when we have faced down impossible odds (these impossible odds are unmentioned but assumed and affirms that we are unique) ; when we’ve been told that we’re not ready, or that we shouldn’t try, or that we can’t, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people.

Yes we can.

(A call to action but even more; a call to rebellion against those who try to discourage us.)

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

(Evocation of “destiny”; that we are the central figures around whom great things can occur.)

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom through the darkest of nights.

(Offering anecdotal evidence to support our rebellion against any oppressor.)

Yes we can.

(Repetition. Hammer it into the mind and link it with powerful and positive emotions.)

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness. (More strong images of perseverance against security and reason.)

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballot; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land. (Wow! This one is POWERFUL! Without stating who the “King” is it providing clues of “mountaintop” and “the Promised Land” and he allows us to connect the dots on our own. This makes us to feel as if we have knowledge of an inner secret.)

Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can. (Powerful use of repetition.)

And so tomorrow, as we take this campaign South and West; (in itself this brings people back to earth… to the reality of the campaign. This would be bad if it were not for the preceding emotional high we’ve been brought to) as we learn that the struggles of the textile worker in Spartanburg are not so different than the plight of the dishwasher in Las Vegas; that the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; (This creates the feeling of bonding between different people. A feeling that we are not so different from one another.)

we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, (Providing three ways of saying “we are one people” and thus clobbering us with repetition again) we will begin the next great chapter in America’s story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea (”coast to coast; from sea to shining sea” evokes patriotic memories of the song “God Bless America” … all without saying it explicitly!) Yes. We. Can.

(Yes, we can! There is little more persuasive than a simple phrase repeated and instilled with emotion. It is the same effect that Hitler used with “Zieg Hail!” and Martin Luther King with “I have a dream.”)

The average person tries to quit smoking between four to six times before they beat the addiction.

This is an excerpt from a speech by Senator Barack Obama - New Hampshire Primary

We. Can.

Smoking is an addiction that many people aren’t able to break. It plagues all countries around the world, from America to Europe to all the other regions, and no matter how hard some people try, they just can’t kick the habbit.

What many people don’t realise however, is that they can use hypnosis to quit smoking, and it’s a lot easier than some people may think. Just what do you know of hypnosis exactly? Is it based on fact or preconceptions, word of mouth or beliefs that are unsubstantiated? If you answered that you didn’t know, then allow me to explain just what hypnosis is.

Hypnosis you see is a form of treatment and psychological deepening technique that has been around for many hundreds of years. It’s only been recently that hypnosis has started to gain such a wide acceptance by the public, and also an understanding from the scientific community. So how can one actually use hypnosis to quit smoking however, you might ask? The answer is, through the same techniques as you’d use hypnosis in any other way.

Hypnosis works by placing our mind into a deeply relaxed and tranquil state, known as a trance. When it’s in this state then we can give our subconscious certain suggestions, which it will subsequently act upon. If you just can’t quit smoking, you can give yourself a suggestion such as ‘I will have no desire to ever pick up another cigarette again’. Whilst you’re in hypnosis, this suggestion will seep into your subconscious. When you awaken yourself from trance, don’t be surprised if you do in fact end up quit smoking, as that is precisely what the hypnosis session was supposed to make you do.

Lots of people will automatically dismiss hypnosis as not working, even though they haven’t tried it. The thought of running around the room doing odd things that some mad stage hypnotist suggests isn’t what hypnotherapy is really about. Hypnosis can be therapeutic just as it can be entertaining, perhaps even more so. For this reason it’s important to try and understand that hypnosis can help you quit smoking, if you put your mind to it. Now no one is saying it will happen immediately, it may take a couple of missions, but using hypnosis to quit smoking has a very high success rate.

If you’re tried every other method under the sun to kick your addiction, from nicotine patches and gum right through to trying to quit ‘cold turkey’, and none of these methods have work, then in all honesty and seriousness, why not give hypnosis a go? It can’t hard, and the worst that will happen is that you’ll experience a relaxing state of warmth without any affects. So at the very least, you’ll become relaxed whilst in the state and enjoy it, even if it doesn’t help you. But odds are however that it will do something for you and your smoking addiction.

So don’t be one of those people that says ‘you can’t use hypnosis to quit smoking’, be one of those people that actually gives it a go and sees for themselves just how well hypnosis can work. What we don’t try we will only end up regretting, so why not give hypnosis a go today? You never know what may happen.

Understanding the correlation between hypnosis and anxiety is essential to discovering a cure to this condition. You see hypnosis influences the way our subconscious fundamentally thinks and behave in almost every aspect.

If we apply hypnosis to our subconscious and give it suggestions to overcome anxiety, hypnosis and anxiety can effectively go together in order to create a cure that we might not normally believe to be possible. Whilst one shouldn’t expect a cure in the sense of getting rid of anxiety in its entirety, hypnosis can help treat the condition quite well.

Anxiety is triggered within us usually as a result of having a fear or being nervous of certain situations. As we gain life experience, it is natural to initially be nervous of certain things however later overcome them and see that there’s really no need to worry about them. Anxiety arises when, despite the fact that it makes no sense that we’re nervous of anxious about certain things, we still are.

Hypnosis itself works by guiding our minds into a deep and subconscious slumber, a sleepy state so to speak, whereby we can begin to enact certain changes in the way we behave. If we give ourselves enough positive suggestions then eventually hypnosis can be used to help overcome anxiety, almost in its entirety. Obviously, sticking to a set regimen is obviously important, and initially you may need to devote a fair amount of practice to the techniques. No one is saying that hypnosis will give you immediate results after the first session, even though it does for some people.

Give yourself realistic goals to overcoming your anxiety through hypnosis, make your initial goal to do one session of hypnosis per week, for a period of say several months, and then afterwards assess whether or not your anxiety and its triggers have been reduced. If they have, then obviously the hypnosis techniques you’re using are working, and should be maintained, if not, then perhaps you need to find another way to use anxiety and hypnosis to alleviate your psychological ailments.

Remember that practice makes perfect, as they say, and if you give up your hypnosis sessions initially then you’ll have little help of overcoming your anxiety. Make sure you stick to your plans and if need be, maybe even consider consulting the services of a professionally trained hypnotherapist who will be able to guide you on some of the better ways to use hypnosis and anxiety may very well be a thing of the past in your life. Keep at it, and eventually a cure could be within sight.

I cant tell you the number of times Ive heard about this technique and that technique that students have learnt on their hypnotherapy course. However, do these techniques make them good therapists? Of course they dont.

Most hypnotherapy training classes rely far too much on a myriad of techniques that the students in turn come to rely on. The belief is set up that there is a particular technique to solve a particular problem. Nothing could be further from the truth. In point of fact most techniques when adapted and personalised can be used to resolve most problems.

The trouble with most hypnotherapy training is that the student tries desperately to match the clients issue to the techniques they have learnt. This is a totally ineffectual way of training hypnotherapy students, and leads to ineffectual hypnotherapists. Hypnotherapy students need educating in how to THINK like a therapist, not training in how to ACT like a therapist.

To be an effective hypnotherapist you need to understand what a clients subconscious is trying to achieve with the problem behaviour. Until this puzzle is solved the hypnotherapist will have little or no chance of resolving the problem, no matter what technique they use. Therefore a deep understanding of the motivations and perceptions of the subconscious as they relate to the client is not only important but also critical to the education of the therapist. Any hypnotherapy course that does not take account of these needs is training the student to fail.

The training environment is another area where many hypnotherapy training schools fall down. Quite often the training is conducted in a single room where all the practical work is done as well. This is obviously not conducive to a genuine therapeutic environment, or for the concentration of either party involved. I have heard of training schools who conduct their lectures in hotel rooms and the practise sessions are sometimes held in the bar or public areas; always ask the question before embarking on a hypnotherapy course, and if it is being held in a hotel be cautious.

I have been particularly astonished to learn that some so-called hypnotherapy training is conducted in mega auditoriums, with several hundred students being asked to practice their therapeutic skills in the middle of the auditorium with so called assistants offering impromptu advice to maybe 20 or 30 people; the noise was described as being akin to a hall full of turkeys gobbling in nervous anticipation just before Christmas. On the upside I have heard it is a good place to meet future clients, as most people arrive calm and go home nervous wrecks. It brings a new meaning to the concept of touch therapy. Obviously having proper breakout rooms where the students can work one to one is far more professional, and allows the students to get the maximum out of the practicals.

Another important area is preparing the future hypnotherapist to deal with real clients. With most hypnotherapy training schools the first real client the student will encounter is after they are handed their diploma and told, Congratulations, you have passed. The first client a hypnotherapist sees is a very nerve wracking time. The client will not have been screened to ensure their suitability etc; so when you take a nervous hypnotherapist, an unknown client in an unsupervised environment, it is a recipe for disaster. I have known many a promising career halted at the start because of a very negative experience.

When we train hypnotherapists we intersperse their training with real clients that are screened by us to ensure suitability. We are always on hand to supervise in case there are any issues beyond the capabilities or experience of the student. This ensures that the student has the best chance of having a positive experience in their first few sessions, and helps them to build their confidence as an effective hypnotherapist. The sessions are conducted in proper therapy rooms to ensure the clients and the students get the most from the experience.

Another area of concern is, are the trainers practising hypnotherapists themselves? I know of a number of courses being run by trainers with very few client hours under their belt, or others whose sole income is from training new hypnotherapists. The old adage, those who can, do, those who cant, teach, seems to apply here. There is a simple way to check, just ring up and ask for a therapy appointment. If they no longer see clients, or they can get you in immediately, thats a fair indication that they either only train or that they see very few clients. The problem here is that if they are not seeing many clients they are unlikely to be up to date with their skills, or worse still they may not be attracting repeat clients, which probably means they are not very effective as therapists themselves. They might be able to talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?

The average person tries to quit smoking between four to six times before they beat the addiction.

Motivation Is Yours With Weight Loss Self Hypnosis
By Alan Densky

With bitter, winter days ahead for many of us, the thought of braving the weather to get to the gym or go for a jog doesn’t sound very attractive. Keeping the motivation to stick to your weight loss goals when everyone else wants to hibernate is simple with self hypnosis for weight loss.

A lot of people who are trying to lose weight agree that motivation is especially challenging when the weather changes, so what if you could stay dedicated to your exercise plan and diet just by viewing a hypnotherapy weight loss DVD or listening to a CD? Better yet, a hypnotherapy weight loss program can diminish your cravings too.

Hypnotherapy for weight loss works simply, but effectively, by guiding you to a deeply relaxed state during which your unconscious can more effortlessly receive suggestions, such as the ones that will keep you motivated to stick to your fitness track, even in the midst of winter.

It is a fact that if a person exercises, it will speed up their metabolism and increase the rate that weight is dropped. Some of the most successful hypnotherapy for exercise motivation techniques comes from Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP. With NLP, the unconscious mind is programmed to use the same thought processes that are producing a problem, to get rid of it. Said another way, the same thought processes that the unconscious mind utilizes to create cravings and oral compulsions could help to completely stop them! And similarly, the same processes can be used to increase your motivation to exercise.

Anchoring is an NLP practice that can be practiced to give you a “switch” for sparking behaviors and feelings. Creating a hypnosis appetite suppression anchor works simply and effectively like this: A qualified hypnotherapy weight loss practitioner will safely direct you into a tranquil hypnotic state. Then the hypnotherapist will ask you to recall a time when you were happy and excited about anything in your life.

The goal of this exercise is to remember and re-experience as many sensations as you possibly can from numerous times in your life when you felt eager and motivated to do anything you wanted to. Then, the weight loss hypnosis therapist will ask you to anchor those feelings by simply touching two fingers together.

Next, you will be asked to visualize yourself exercising and enjoying it. As you make this mental image, you’ll trigger your anchor by touching those two fingers together again. When you do that, your unconscious will connect the feeling of excitement and eagerness from the other memory to the thought of exercising.

From this point on, whenever you wish to feel motivated to exercise, you can simply trigger your anchor and re-experience those same affirmative feelings that will motivate you to workout. NLP and weight loss hypnosis can even be used to discourage behaviors, so you can easily beat cravings. That sounds much easier and encouraging than beating yourself up for missing a workout or giving into temptation, doesn’t it?

A successful weight loss hypnosis program will also address the root cause of weight gain for many of us, namely a lack of self-esteem. In a relaxed state, you can accept post-hypnotic suggestions that will develop your self-esteem as you lose more weight. The lack of self-esteem is a big factor in being overweight.

Many people wonder if, after attempting every new diet and buying every exercise implement on the market, something as straight forward as weight loss hypnosis can work for them. The good news is that it has been found that all normal people are hypnotizable to a greater or lesser extent. However, it should be noted that people who have less than a 70 I.Q. or those who are in an active state of psychosis or with senility generally are not hypnotizable.

But for the rest of us, self hypnosis for weight loss can actually make us look forward to exercising and eating healthily. That said, the major proponent for victory in any fitness routine, whether it embraces weight loss hypnosis or not, is wanting to achieve your weight loss goals.

On a related note, that is exactly why you can’t force someone to undergo weight loss self hypnosis just by giving them suggestions. If someone is against an idea, no amount of weight loss hypnosis they hear or see will take hold. In reference to the NLP explanation above, if someone does not have a memory of feeling positive or motivated, they can still be successful with NLP and hypnotherapy because they can envision what it would feel like if they did feel that way, and anchor the imagined feelings.

So, if you are like many of us and find your enthusiasm diminishing as the temperatures drop and the days get darker, weight loss hypnosis can assist you to regain (or maintain) your interest for carrying out and finally hitting your fitness aspirations.
